1 Poem by Britt McQuilkin

A Simple Whitney Conversation

It was all wispy and pillowy,
a little one-room dream
sick with romantic celebration.
Made admist the masculine 70's, to be
demandingly, unforgivingly
feminine.

Soft flowing ribbons on ladders.
Love was written on the walls.
Forced storybook and roses,
bleeding affectation.

Morton's syrupy pale pink world.
There was nothing dark or morose about it.
So imaginary you're not allowed to touch it.
