1 Poem by Bruce Louis Dodson

Early Morning Riser

Wakened at
Three thirty in the morning
Thup thup thup of rotors
Police helicopter overhead
Walk to the window
Look into the night
Fat beam of searchlight
Spidering across the neighborhood
Searching for what?
Or who?
I wonder
Did I lock the door?
