2 Poems by Stefanie Bennett

THE SPOILS

Those who know when old
Is new again are
The ‘Bareback Riders’
Before
The Age of Quartz.
Who speak ‘if’ spoken
To, yet curse
A purple sage, and
The future
Without
The future’s face...

SLIDE EFFECTS

... I hang my hat where
The oxygen’s lean
And cows
Come home
In single file.
Where nothing’s
Out to prove
A thing – but
The believing
That’s
Behind
The green gate –.
