Times Remembered
Times remembered
Now repeating
Now receding
Vacant mem’ries
Hollow entries
Long abandoned
Empty journeys
Once remembered
Twice forgotten
Open highways
Never travelled
Dreams forsaken
Faded glories
Full of promise
Now depleted
Long lost treasures
Stolen chances
Dissipating
Silent voices
Empty spaces
Past erases
Times remembered
Now repeating
Now receding
The End of April
Varying shades of green
Leaves unfurling
From buds in the trees
Yellow, orange, gold and red
Colors of fall given over
Washed away by rain and snow
Shadows of tree limbs
Playing in the grass
Ever changing
Holding the future
Retracing destiny
Of life and love
The sap of trees
Rising through its veins
As birds take wing
And flowers bloom
Secrets revealed
Through knotted pines
That, ever green, remain
The forecast of spring
