Prayers of the Day
I forgot my work
and have no choice but to walk
on the beach
praying with the white foam
work will never return;
but you too are in the car,
and you must return
or there is no beach,
no foam
and the prayer—
a footprint in the sand—
like work—
forgotten
as with most people,
my prayers substitute for will,
and are mostly
bad decisions
