3 Poems by Valeri Beers

Vampire Girl

Her kiss
is
insistent, intimate & infuriating.
Whining "GIMME"
in your ear.
By
the time
you feel
her
touch,
it's too late.
She
defies Death
again & again.
Bitch.

Summer Poem

Why
did you
leave
so quickly?
Was
it something
I
said?

Why
were you
so
inconsistent
with
your warmth?

Flood

black wetness slowly creeps
places
it
should not
be the
waves
gently lapping
are deceiving
as they
damage
