The frosty wind whirling and whirling
The bright moon shining and shining
I stand abreast with a tallest tree,
But not on it leaning.

About the author:
Shen Yinmo (1883—1971),was born in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, and his ancestral homeland was Wuxing, Zhejiang Province. In his early years he went to study in Japan. From 1923 to 1928, he worked as a professor in Peking University. During the literary revolution, he advocated the movement of vernacular poetry. After October, 1949, he was deputy director of Central Institute of History and vice chairman of Shanghai Federation of Literary and Art Circles. He was the author of A Collection of Qiuming (a collection of poems), Miscellanies of Qiuming Studio, etc. Tr. by Yang Xu)

沈尹默(1883—1971),生于陕西西安,祖籍浙江吴兴。早年曾赴日本留学。1913年至1928年,任北京大学教授等职。文学革命期间,倡导白话诗
运动。1949年10月以后,曾任中央文史馆副馆长、上海文联副主席等职。主要作品有:诗集《秋明集》、《秋明室杂集》等。
