2 Poems by Antony Johae

Holiday

It is Sunday.
We have washed.
You kiss my cheeks
I kiss yours.
I pull up the shutter
with one hand
and the light comes in.
I feel You in it.

High Tension

A wire lay next to me
bare at the end and connected up.
Pushing it away
it clung to me
taking it by the neck
it stung me.
I held it tight in a horrible grip
and out of my ears popped plugs.
