1 Poem by Garth von Buchholz

Helen

In you is a desert
flower blooming;
Slender roots through
dry sands
To the invisible source
of living water;
I could not grow a shoot
so delicate in my garden;
How can I learn how
to make it bloom?
How can I make your petals
relax, unfold
As if your feet
have suddenly touched
The streams beneath the sand;
As if your face has found
The sun above the sky?
