2 Poems by Eli Dunham

A GOD SAID SORRY

a god fell right through my roof
down my stairs all the way the smell
of greatness and B.O., I wanted to kiss him
so I stood still
the god looked at me
like I was the God
life after
my golden silence
the god said sorry
for the mess
this was not his day

FINALLY

gather the eggs
teach them
to be

to obey

finally

i learned to
be comfortable
living

inside of your
loneliness
