Comfort

drinking coffee
in the kitchen
on a Saturday morning.
day after a heavy
night out. I’m a creature
of feeling. pressing cheek
to the glass flats
of windows. feel cold
spreading down
through the earth of my skull
as wet roots will entangle
wet rocks.

DS Maolalai has been described by one editor as "a cosmopolitan poet" and another as "prolific, bordering on incontinent".
