As I Stare into the Night
As I stare into the night
I cannot help but ponder if i'm right,
Right for joining the war
Afer all the gore.
When the time comes I stare at the red,
I think of the dead
That won't ever come home.
The battle field is their bomb.
In time perhaps the war will crease
And give way to a time of peace.
In this time of despaire
Where life is so rare
Why must we fight
So late into the night?
Then for a few hours
The night is ours.

My name is Emily Wang (王墨). I was born in Melbourne on October 29th, 2012, "As I Stare into the Night" is my first poem ever published! Currently I am attending East Doncaster Secondary College as a year seven. I enjoy the subject Health the most as it encourages people to think about their body and what happens inside. At home I spend my time reading; my faourite author is Osamu Dazai with his short sotry "Toy," despite that I also enjoy the work of Emily Rodda's "His name was Walter." As a side note, I have two dogs called Chase and Chunkzilla whom I love very much.
