Valeria Z. Nollan is professor emerita of Russian Studies at Rhodes College. Her books and articles on Russian literature and culture have established her as an authority on modern Russia. She is the author of two poetry books: her collection Holocaust of the Noble Beasts (Goldfish Press, 2020) engages themes of the suffering of animals, degradation of the environment, and art and beauty. Her poetry chapbook In Search of Rachmaninoff, a voyage of discovery, was published in the Netherlands in 2004. Nollan's poetry has appeared in the Asheville Poetry Review, Rhodes, Tennessee Voices, Canadian-American Slavic Studies, and Russian almanacs.
