1 Poem by Andrew Petrucci

Ode to a Blank Canvas

The point of departure
is a brushstroke
against
the horizon.
It’s not
topographical
or geological—
it’s sentimental;
like a fish out of
water.
Truth is:
If I knew
how to swim,
I’d meet you
half way
& wade.
If I knew
what to whisper
maybe you’d
consider
coming back
across
these crags.
