2 Poems by Sanjeev Sethi

SELFHOOD

In a lawn outside the loggia
scuddy trees seek your trust.
Overthrow and allurement?
Beauty of burls? Or, is it
sierras in sepia?

When the odor of osmosis
blends with your breath,
when the norm is nails as
long as your nose, you’re
a solemnizer of selfdom.

OBITER

As age accelerates on speedometer of existence
peers begin to show one last time usually with
a flattering  photograph  in the bulldog edition.
Ritual of repose is the new coffee klatch. Friends,
former lovers and the like gather and grieve. The
dumpster of death does not wait for weekends.
Anamnesis in sables is warmer than perceptions.
