2 Poems by Angelica Fuse

Succumb

I will not succumb
to your images
of what it means
to be a Woman

I will not allow myself
to bend and flow
with your definition's
structure

what it means
what I am
will step into being
with grace
and venom.

Falling Down

she fell down
a spinning star
after her long dance

only to be picked up

he selected
her from the table
a delicacy

until she became
the death of him
traveling up his veins.

Bionote

Angelica Fuse is an unquiet voice who reads by an imaginary fire.  Her poems can be found at Outlaw Poetry and I Am Not A Silent Poet, among other places.
